Supernatural: Fan Favorite's Surprise Return

*****SPOILER ALERT!! DO NOT CONTINUE IF YOU'VE NOT CAUGHT UP WITH SUPERNATURAL BY THIS TIME!*****
Still here? Ok, don't say I didn't warn you!
Now, onto the good part!
I don't know about you guys, but I was totally surprised (in the best way) by the last Supernatural episode before the Olympics break (13x13). In true Supernatural form, the big reveal was held until the last possible moment, in which Asmodeus reveals to Ketch that not only do they have an archangel blade that can truly kill Lucifer, but they have another incredible important piece of the Lucifer-killing puzzle...
An archangel who can wield it!
And so Asmodeus leads Ketch to a cell, where he pulls back the cover on the tiny barred window to reveal his secret weapon...
Gabriel!! Ahhhhhh! Ok, first off, how is he alive? Second, has he been here this whole time?! And if so, does that mean Crowley put him there just in case? Or did Asmodeus somehow manage to revive him after all this time? So many questions! not the least of which is, why is his mouth sewn shut?
Can't wait to see more of our favorite trickster/archangel, but wow, how will all these years of possible torture and isolation have changed him?
