Roswell Remake

With the success of the return of The X-files to TV, a whole slew of past favorites are attempting a comeback, the most recent of which is the WB/CW's alien's-in-highschool show, Roswell, which was originally based on the "Roswell High" book series by Melinda Metz.

According to Variety the remake (I'm not calling this a reboot, because, well, it's not the original cast) will take on a new twist in 2018:

"The new, one-hour drama series would follow the daughter of undocumented immigrants who reluctantly returns to her tourist-trap hometown of Roswell, New Mexico. There she discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: he’s an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life. She protects his secret as the two reconnect and begin to investigate his origins, but when a violent attack and long-standing government cover-up point to a greater alien presence on Earth, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him and destroy their deepening romance."

So what say you fans of the original show? Are you going to watch? Me? I haven't decided yet. The original cast was really great, including some big names like Once Upon A Time's Emilie de Ravin, Colin Hanks, Brendan Fehr, and Grey's Anatomy's Katherine Heigl.

In another Grey's connection, the remake will be starring Jeanine Mason, a.k.a. 2018 Grey's Anatomy's Dr. Sam Bello.

I'll probably tune in to see how it goes, but quite frankly, I'm thinking I'm in need of an original Roswell rewatch instead. Who's with me?

One thing I hope they don't change? The theme song! I can't even hear Dido now without thinking of Roswell and angsty teen aliens.
